Kimi has built an own track on his property but following Finnish traditions his neighbors are now complaining about the noise. The county’s officials’ opinion has so far been that such track wouldn’t need any permit if it is only used in “small scale”. After the complaints they are now reviewing their opinions.
Complaining about everything is very deep in Finnish traditions. Since we are all equal everyone has a right to be upset about anything. And in most case you can leave an official complaint that has to be processed. Most large scale construction projects are badly delayed by these.
Nearly every shooting range, motorsport area or anything that causes noise or other annoyances has been been getting complaints and several has been taken out of use or operational hours have been limited.
Some of these complaints have caused ridiculous situations. One shooting range had erected a noise suppression fence but they cannot renew their permit as test firings are required to see if the fence works but any shooting is forbidden as their permit hasn’t been renewed.
Even the Finnish military has problems with some of their combat practice areas as the noise issues have annoying some people who have summer cottages near the area.

US has the same issue. Most of our test ranges have meteorologists on staff that have to do a sound propagation analysis for explosions larger than X size to prevent people whining. Every so often they get it wrong and the phone lines light up and people write news articles about it.

How does Kimi get away with even having a motocross track. Don’t you think Ferrari would have “No extreme sports” clause in their contract?

I would think too that Ferrari wouldn’t like him be doing any motocross riding. It’s possible that he just had it made for his friends to have fun. His brother is similar motorsport enthusiast but hasn’t been so successful.

Basically yes. His representative told the press that Kimi will sort out the issues with the county officials but he isn’t going to respond in anyway to the press.

He’s got nothing on a friend of mines ex neighbors. They made a motocross track around their house in an old part of town. Put platforms up in trees with recliners on them so they can watch their buddies, hey check this out moments. I once saw them attempting to get a full sized refrigerator up into one of the trees. Never saw it make it into the tree, but it did become a permanent outside fixture, along with a couple couches. As far as my friend knows no one ever complained, but they were the butt of a lot of jokes, and often nick-named the bumpus's.
I did notice after they started building a jump to jump over the house into the back yard that things started getting cleaned up, and then suddenly the house was vacant and a for sale sign went up. So that must have been someone’s final straw.
